Two years ago, a fire destroyed the University of Jos library complex; BNET responded to the tragic loss of materials with an offer to supply books to restock the library.
The offer was accepted by the university librarian, Dr. Akintunde, and the university. This month, the consignment of replacement books was dispatched by air freight to lagos. The consignment consists of two pallets with 45 cartons of books and periodicals, weighing a total of 795kg.
The formal handing over of the books took place at Jos University with BNET Chair, David Brandler representing the Trust. The ceremony was held in the Vice Chancellor’s Guest House.
The University Library, Dr Akintunde, the Librarian (far right), says the new library should be ready to be commissioned by April 2019.
